Brownstone By Sudtipos | Typeface Tuesday

This is no shock for people who know me personally, but growing up I LOVED The Cosby Show. Quite a few favorites of mine stem from my love of that series (including Phylicia Rashad, goofy Heathcliff sweaters, Denise Huxtable, and A Different World) but the most closely held was the desire to live in a brownstone. True, it was a studio set; but I wanted to live in one anyway, especially coming from the land of bungalows and ranch-style homes.

Random, I know. But this is a perfect segue to feature the lovely font Brownstone by pretty font master Sudtipos. Isn’t this font pretty?

So, if by some chance Mr. J and I moved into a brownstone (like, say, after winning the lottery), I will use this font for all my new change-of-address announcements. Here's where I could get it.

This weekend involves running the usual errands one of which I'm already slacking on - the grocery list. However, I do have the dinner options written down somewhere in my purse so it's not too bad.

I don't think Mr. J will be too annoyed considering I do have some meals planned, at least.

I hope I don't miss anything.

Neutral Flats from Topshop | Jonesing

Once upon a time, I used to rock heels almost everyday at work; now not so much. Thanks to my trek through LA’s subway system and the stairs that come with that, wearing heels at the end of the day would be a total pain. As much as I would love to pretend being a fashionista, I can’t help but think of the droves of freshmen women who would wobble around UCLA’s campus in the beginning of Fall Quarter looking like... well, Freshmen.

For the past few months I’ve been eying the flats at Topshop, but each time my tastes change due to their large selection. Right now I’m leaning towards a neutral color that's not entirely in black, since my shoe collection lacks these sort of neutrals. It would be nice to have a go-to pair of shoes for some of my dresses. Here are some items currently in my queue:

Moscow Camel Lace Flower

I really want these in black (yeah, I know).

Miracle Grey Stud Bow

I first spotted these pretties on East Side Bride and was bit sad to see that they had sold out out at the time. Now they’re back on the site.

Marina Chiffon Bow

These are probably more wedding shoes than anything (actually they're perfect) but they fit for spring nicely too...

Recycled Book Mobiles by The Shop House | A Pretty Neat Shop

One day, while minding my own business, I was on Pinterest slowly adding some pins to my neglected boards when I came across the coolest thing: a book mobile by Lisa Occhipinti of The Shop House.

Yes, I know... but, they’re books! I’ve been known to frown at some questionable things done to books but I have admit these look pretty amazing. Another thing, special orders can be made. Perhaps you have an evil Statistics book lying around that the college bookstore wouldn't buy back because a new edition came out. Now you found some use for it!

P.S. Actually, I have no idea what happened to my book but this could be true for you too.

Pretty Organized With a Side of Cupcakes

Like many, I’m in the midst of getting myself organized. Would you believe I started before the new year and have since created a new disaster area? Sigh. Sometimes I get ahead of myself. Anyway, I’m on a mission to get my computer/internet/files/books/closet tidy... before the spring. I think that gives me enough time.

Then, I'll treat myself to some cupcakes.

Interior Inspiration from Emily Henson | Monday Musing

After a day of shopping furniture with Mr. J yesterday, I was reminded of my wide eye, bushy tailed and naive childhood daydream of the awesome place I would occupy in my adulthood. Naturally, this place was inhabited only by me, was in a hip and thriving neighborhood and possessed lots of color.

Well, I don't live alone, my neighborhood is alright, and our place doesn't have very much color but it's still a work in progress. With that said, these beautiful and bright interiors created by Emily Henson offer some attainable inspiration with the usage of some noticeable pieces from IKEA and my precious, Anthropologie (who also happens to be a client of hers). Dream job and dream place, the child in me is slightly jealous.

Why, Yes. More, Please

Maybe it's because of the red dress I'm wearing today. Or the class that has been kicking my butt recently. Or the spot I snagged earlier this week for a workshop I've been jonesing forever. Or maybe it's just the New Year but I feel so vibrant and energized! I don't want to get too used to it, you know, to give complacency the chance to jinx it. So, I'm just going to play it cool and savor it a little and keep it as both a reminder for one my objectives this year (execute) and the benefits of continuing it.
